it's getting pretty exciting... but, you know, if I'd been in the president's shoes (although her fashionable high heels wouldn't look so good on me), I'd have said "To hell with what Congress thinks, there's 1500 heavily armed enemy soldiers in that place; surround it with tanks and put fighter jets overhead." Sending in lightly armed FBI agents against an outfit known to be armed with heavier weapons seems to be insane....

They have sent more aned better armed men to cult compounds

I guess it's who they can round up at such short notice. Not that 24 is believable, of course. They figure that the pathogen is non-transfering in what... 10 minutes?

I'm anxious to see which of the following cliches they use to get Jack out of his current predicament and bring him back for another day:

  • The bad guy has an antidote
  • Jack's pretending in order to weed out moles in the FBI/CDC
  • The CDC crew is compromised and gave him false information
  • It's a fake virus designed to imitate a real virus, used by the villain to point out the USA's shortcomings in defending against such a real threat

I'm leaning toward the latter.
