"Are we just gonna leave 'em down there?" Copper puzzledly asks the group. "I got some rope, maybe we can pull them back up at least?"

Team Fallen - Aywin

Aywin realizes that there are others still down the gorge. Without hesitation, he turns and says: "I should be able to get them back up, it depends how much they weigh. If I can, I'll carry Lolklafd first, and let you know if we need the ropes for Shade 9."

He drops his pike, and his backpack, and his belt, then jumps back down the gorge. He keeps his greatsword on his back, and his belt where his handaxe is, just in case. His hair is swirling, and floats down at a safe pace, holding out his hand, guided by invisible Svetlana. Once down, he assesses the situation and sees how he can help.

OOC: Levitate allows 500 lbs. Aywin's armor is 60 lbs, 6 lbs for the greatwsord he is keeping, and lets say 14 lbs for clothes and knicknacks strapped to him. I didn't roll Aywin's weight, but around 170-180 lbs is a safe assumption (15 str, fit). So depending how heavy the folks down are. Is it fair to assume that he can carry 200-220lbs @FitzTheRuke ?

Gemini tells me that the total weight of Aywin's gear is 151.5 lbs.

Team Fallen

Aywin floated back down into the gorge, with Svetlana following. From above the strange mists, he could see a cave-like opening to the North-East. The roar of the waterfall masked all sound, and it took him a moment to locate Shade-9 and Loklafd, at the southern side of the large black rock-spire.

(Notes: 1) To Waterfall (& Up). 2) Black Rock Spire. 3) Current flows that way. 4) Cave Ledge.)
OOC: I think Aywin could lift Loklafd (who's missing some 25 lbs without a leg). He's a big guy, but he's not carrying much gear. IDK about Shade-9, though. I bet he'd be heavy. Also: You can only move up and down, right? I took into account that you probably moved as far over as you could using the edge of the gorge (hand-over-hand).

Merrick

Merrick and the Mercenary stepped into the Teleporter, which began to glow with a soft red light and a mild hum before it made something like a cracking noise and the room shifted in Merrick's view. Suddenly, there was torchlight in a long chamber and Merrick recognized the face of Valendra, the Arcane Brotherhood Wizard. She stood near the teleporter, with the lone surviving mercenary.

He was at the dig-site once more. But now, there was a large group of cultists, who were angrily questioning Velendra and the merc about where their quarry had gone. Valendra was arguing back, as stubborn as she had been when she had been Merrick's foe. She only glanced his way, and if she recognized him, she didn't show it. The mercenary beside her, though, shifted his grip on his torch, and widened his eyes. But he said nothing, other than to greet Merrick's companion, who was his friend.

Merrick last saw Urgan in a chamber that he knows is to the East, past the Cultists. He knows that the tunnel south goes toward the lake, and that his other allies are out there somewhere.

OOC: up and down, yes, like a balloon. But Svetlana is there to help guide him. Since there's no wind (I am ssuming but I can be wrong), I figured that Svetlana's aerial support helped him avoid to grab the ledge and helped guide him with little effort. An imp has 6 str so 90 lbs light load, but with levitate Aywin's weight is basically 0. What do you figure Shade9's weight is @Tonguez ?

Team Fallen - Aywin

Relieved to see his two companions standing, Aywin approached. "Hello friends, are you ok? Are you well enough to grab onto me so I can lift you up?"

Assuming they cooperielate, he tries with both the Loklafd and Shade9, and starts with Loklafd.

TEAM FALLEN - SUBJECT: SHADE-9 - 3 heads in the well

Shade-9 let the river flow take them to black pillar of rock before driving one arm into a narrow crack to arrest their momentum and haul himself and Loklafd up onto the slick stone. The familiar Saphirrion was there to assist as well, acknowledgement that the rest of the Team was still engaged despite the fall-induced separation.

[MISSION UPDATE: Position Secured- Rock 'Island']
[Subject: Loklafd] Functional Status: Stable, Mobility Compromised
[Subject: Shade-9] Functional Status: Stable, All Systems: Nominal
Environmental Visibility: Low - Dense Fog / Unknown Composition
]

"do you want a goodberry?" Shade-9 offered as he located a relatively level and dry enough surface, then checked Loklafd for injury. The northman looked to be well, but it was always good pratice to check.

As he moved his optics swept across the dark water, supplementing Saphirrions search for the wooden limb and alert for any unnatural movement or eddies within the water or from whatever parts of the cavern walls might be visible from their position.

[ENVIRONMENTAL MAPPING INITIATED]
  • Locate Waterfall and Stream Flow Vector
  • Identify Cavern Parameters
  • Identify accessible surface features and hazards
  • Determine potential Extraction Routes.]

Slow reconnaissance of the rock itself would also be required. The Warforged Gloomstalker sought out footholds and ledges that might bear his weight, as well as indication of whether the rock pillar was a natural part of the cave system or bore signs of worked masonry, carved symbols or hidden fissures.

His optics moved from base upwards through the fog haze and darkness overhead where Shade-9 thought he saw deliberate movement amidst the shadows, though not enough to identify at first. His optics narrowed, ready, and he raised one hand toward Loklafd in a silent signal to remain still while they waited ... and was relieved when Aywin descended from above

OOC: Ebberon wiki gives average Warforged weight at 270 - 300 lbs. Shade-9 is a stealth unit so on the lighter side, but he does have integrated medium amour so 270?

Aywin approaches and embraces the two of them. "I am glad you are ok. Now lets get you back up. Loklafd, hold onto me, and I can lift you up. Shade 9, can you go up by yourself? If not, I'll come back for you"

OOC: ok, so can Shade 9 climb? If not, ropes pulled from above is an option. Another one is removing Aywin's armor which takes 5 minutes (heavy armor). Doable if he casts levitate a second time, is basically naked, and lifts Shade 9.

Merrick

For a brief moment, Merrick considered surrendering.

If it was just Valendra, he would have. Out of all the invaders, he felt like he had advocated the most for her. But he knew her priority was the research and there was no way she would risk it for his sake.

Besides, the cultists were bloodthirsty at this point and they had no reason to keep him alive. Merrick and the others had been slaughtering their numbers and The Beast had already ordered no quarter.

He crossed his fingers and stepped back into the teleporter, leaving the other mercenary behind.

Aywin approaches and embraces the two of them. "I am glad you are ok. Now lets get you back up. Loklafd, hold onto me, and I can lift you up. Shade 9, can you go up by yourself? If not, I'll come back for you"

"I can attempt to climb" Shade-9 looked back to the rock tower as Aywin moved to secure Loklafd in his grip and carry the northman back up to the top of the gorge. The power of flight really was a great boon for those who possessed it.

"if it can be provided, a secured rope line would be of great assistance in crossing the river flow safely as well as facilitating ascent..."
