OOC: you want to hand a rope to copper, who is like 100' down below you all right now, and have him tie a rope to the rope he is currently dangling from, while he holds a bullseye lantern from his teeth?

I mean yeah he he could, he has a climb speed and fast hands, its just kinda absurd to envision thats our go-to plan when we have other options. Typical adventures amiright?

OOC: we just need another 50 feet of rope tied to the end Bjorn and Darius are holding. Perhaps Lorent has some. We can then have Copper, Bjorn, Lorent and Darius climb down to the ledge while Stryke and Loklafd hold it.

After much debating and no small amount of bickering, as any group of strong-willed folks will inevitably succumb to, Imani's Agents were able to splice yet another rope to their line. With Loklafd lying on his side, with his one foot pressed hard against a rock and his back to a rise in the stone floor of the waterfall chamber, and Stryke crouched in front of him, peering with his dark-elf's eyes into the gloom of the gorge, the others were able to begin their descent.

Aywin, who was still flying, was able to take the new end of the rope from the top of the rocky spire and wrap it around a column of rock at the edge of the newly-discovered cavern mouth. All that was left was for Darius, Lorent, Bjorn, and Terrin to make their way down the hundred-foot climb to the spire, where Copper waited, holding his torch toward the cave mouth. As he did, Shade-9 emerged from the mists, climbing the jagged rock of the spire.

Bill led the way for the climbers, making it look easy with his little weasel feet scampering along the top o the rope. Only once did the rope sway so far that he lost his footing and dangled for a moment, twisting his long body this way and that before pulling himself back up and continuing to scamper along.

OOC: Easy, right? Give me STR Athletics checks if you don't have Climb speeds (and no, Acrobatics won't do - there is no way to tightrope walk if you're not a weasel or something like it. Good luck!

Copper shines his light into the maw of the ominous cave before them.

"So, what's in there anyway?"

OOC: Copper can cimb, so he is good to get there.

Lorent hated the damp dungeon where you always had to do physical and uncomfortable things. Still, how hard could it be to go down the rope. Just hold on and slide.

He started well until first know where he made a mistake of dropping legs from the rope, his hands slipping and he plunged into the darkness. An instant later, he re-appeared on the rope, breathing hard and concentrating. And his familiar flew out of darkness to help.

Together and very slowly, Lorent came down where the group waited.

OOC: Ogremoch apparently doesn't like celestials in his grotto

neurotic: D20 - 1#lorent athletics → 0 (1 - 1)#Lorent Athletics

Misty step back on the rope. Saphirrion casts Guidance, aids and uses burst of ingenuity if needed.
neurotic: 2D20H1 - 1 + 2 + D4#lorent aided athletics → 14=high of 1; 9 = 9 - 1 + 2 + 4#Lorent aided athletics - note another natural 1 in this advantageous roll - Ogremoch apparently doesn't like celestials in his grotto

Terrin considers the position of the gorge in front of him relative to Shade-9's previous description of the space behind the necrotic curtain and decides descent along the rope presents an opportunity to discover what lies at the end of the masked figures' energy beams. Perhaps it is the famed diamond staff itself!

He prepares himself by stowing his javelin and raising his hand to petition his deity for assistance in going down the rope.

"Nigin ša Šamaš!" he intones in a thick, throaty voice, bringing the favor of a spirit of strength and endurance upon himself, and grasps the rope to begin his descent.

OOC: Terrin casts guidance, choosing Athletics.

Strength (Athletics) with Guidance: 1D20+1+1D4 = [10]+1+[2] = 13
