There exist quite a phew homebrews about this exact thing already like here:

Having said that many are a bit older so concentrating on newer design you could maybe take inspiration of the lupin race:

  • darkvision - This can stay I guess dogs still have good senses also in night
  • unarmed strike deal slashing damage and can shove and damage - Here I think being able to make an unarmed attack with no hands free while allowing the grab and damage option could fit. Like a dog biting into the target and not letting it go. Might be a bit agressive for a corgi, but small dogs also do this.
  • howl: Proficiency times per day you can howl aas a bonus action where enemies need to make a saving throw or have 1 turn disadvantage on attacks and saving throws - Not sure if this is fitting for barking. Maybe something which inspires your party instead? So proficiency times per day you can inspire the party by barking (bonus action) to give them temp HP equal to twice proficiency bonus? Or give advantage on their next dice check.
  • proficiency in perception survival or stealth - maybe perception, survival or diplomacy (they are cute so people like them)

I can’t comment on corgis specifically, but you might take a look at the Humblewood setting and how they handle animal-inspired species.

I don't like longstrider for this, long-lasting magic doesn't feel right. Longstrider lasts for an hour, do they have to be on all fours the whole time to get the benefits? Also proficiency bonus times per day longstrider seems like a lot, in tier 2 that's 3-4 hours of longstrider, which is often enough to be the whole relevant part of the adventuring day.

I'd tend towards something like they can take dash as a bonus action (maybe prof times per day, but I don't think it needs the limit) if they can free both hands to do 'get on all fours to go fast'. Not magical and doesn't have them going fast for hours on end, and the big dash feels more appropriate than a longer-lasting, constant bonus.

Just leaving this in case anyone else stops in for the same reason I did.

Pugmire puts Corgis in the Herder Breed!

Example Herders: Briard, Canaan, Collie, Corgi, German, Sheepdog.
Ability Bonus: +2 Wisdom.
Watch the Herd: The herder with this trick gains an advantage on all Wisdom checks involving hearing, sight, or smell.
