Free RPG Day: Primal’s Spear and Fang — VSR Ink

If you've watched Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal and ever wondered, "What might a Tier 1 D&D encounter with Spear and Fang be like?" now's your chance! The statblocks (here) represent what they might look like near the beginning of Season 1. Scary stuff for lowbies IMO, but let me know if you'd like to see them leveled up a bit.

Nice! I modeled my (dragonborn) paladin & mount (Diana) after Spear and Fang in Tomb of Annihilation and had great fun with them.

This might be something that I use the stat blocks for as allies/sidekicks/patrons in my own games.

I'd love to see improved stats for the two, especially as they neared the end of series (and were aboard the Ark).

Very neat! I’ll definitely put some thought into how they progress into the higher CRs. I went down the barbarian/berserker path, but I’m interested in hearing how the paladin worked out. What Oath did you go with, and what creature type was Diana? Perhaps I’ll look at a multiclass type of upgrade…

The paladin was a typical Oath of Devotion and the DM was kind enough to just let me use Allosaurus stats for my Find Steed spell. Because most of the adventuring was indoors, Diana didn't show up very often - but when the two of us were together with the sacred weapon (lance) and her bite it was a fearsome combination, truly evoked a lot of the fight scenes from the show.
