With the rush of Spider's blow, the bees disperse. As the party begins to catch their breath, the party hears the sound of a single person clapping slowly. Up on the edge of the ravine, back near where Lord Mallaby is hidden, a woman emerges. She is dressed in leather boots and a protective leather vest, with buff-colored trousers and somewhat lighter, off-white sleeves, and gloves of lighter leather. Over this she wears a flowing green cloak, which is pushed back from her head, revealing a head of short curly brown hair over a cheerful face. At her side is a long thin sword, and she has a brace of daggers strapped across her chest, and several more at other places around her person, as well as a quiver of arrows on her back with a "Well done," she says. "It looked a little touch and go there for a bit when that frog swallowed the dwarf." She tosses a rope over the edge and hops down to the lower tier of the gorge's wall. "Dirk!" she shouts. "Are these all of them?" A dwarf emerges from the trees at the edge of the ravine. "Let's see. That's most of 'em, but that one in black"--he indicates Tyris--"he's new. There's another fellow that was with 'em." "Here he is," says a female voice from the other edge of the ravine, above where Mallaby is standing. "Behind the tree." The speaker is dressed in lighter clothing, and bears a staff in her hand and no other visible weapon. The first woman hops down to the canyon floor as Lord Mallaby emerges from his hiding place. "My dear lady," he says, "I am Lord Mallaby, and this is my expedition. These worthy persons all have accompanied me, except, as you noted, the man in black." He calls out to his party. "This new person, whence did he come?" "He sort of appeared," Eraden answers, stepping towards the direction Tyris came from. "There was a flash of--" before he can finish, there is indeed another flash, and a hole in the air opens up and draws him in before disappearing. "Wild magic," the woman with the staff comments. "Thank you, Thais," the other woman says. "Edgar, make a note of that!" She turns back to address the adventurers. "It shows up around here sometimes." "Am I correct in believing that I am addressing one Ismene?" Lord Mallaby asks, taking her hand and kissing it formally. Recover encounter powers, and tell me how many healing surges you're using. Bluesfella, sorry I had to retcon your post. Hazards of play-by-post and people taking actions at all hours, I guess.
