I was just reading through the Neverwinter Campaign Setting and was reminded of this spell. I can't believe it's been left out of 4e altogether! Therefore, I felt a need to correct this injustice.
Aganazzar’s Scorcher Wizard Attack 3
A stream of molten fire blasts a fiery path of destruction directly to your target, burning everything in its way.
Encounter • Arcane, Fire, Evocation, Implement
Standard Action Ranged 10
Primary Target: One enemy within range.
Attack: Intelligence vs. Reflex
Hit: 2d6 + Intelligence modifier fire damage and 5 ongoing fire damage (save ends).
Secondary Target: All creatures that grant cover to the target from the caster’s primary attack.
Attack: Intelligence vs. Reflex
Hit: 1d6 fire damage.
Effect: The stream of fire lasts until the start of the caster’s next turn and the caster is dazed and immobilised until then. All creatures that would qualify as targets for the secondary attack are subject to the secondary attack for each square that the target moves whilst still in range of this spell.
Special: All creatures, whether allies or enemies, are considered allies of the primary target for the purposes of determining who is affected by the secondary attack.
