Alias season finale (Spoilers!)

HOLY CRAP!!! What the hell happened to Sydney? Two years is a crazy long time for a person to be out of action. Does anyone else think the machine is somehow time related? Or perhaps it put her in a stasis?

I repeat: HOLY CRAP!!!

I very much doubt she's been out of it for 2 years. It's probably a hallucination of some sort, either brought on by the stress of seeing two of her friends dead or replaced or dead and replaced, or constructed by drugs and mind control techniques used by her enemies (assuming she was captured).

That was cool and well-done, if a bit unexpected. I REALLY wanted to see more of Sloan and kinda expected it, so I was a little let down in that respect. I do like how JJ Abrams keeps his hand close to the reset button as it makes the show more dynamic. The sick part is that this entire season (compared to season one) is basically just a set-up for season 3, where I feel that all of these elements will click.

If what we learned here is true, then Irina is still the main threat here, not Sloan. She has been orchestrating this for years. Altho there is still that smidge of doubt that makes me think that Sloan is still the main baddie. That's one of the great things about this show - you know these folks are evil you just never know who is more evil (the BIG bad, if I may).

Back to the setup: This season exsisted to show us the magnitude of Irina/Sloan's plan. It gave Syd things (a closer connection to her dad, her mom, a trusting love interest, the death of SD-6) but took them and more away (a best friend, her lover and potentially her dad). She will be VERY alone next season. With Francie gone, Will's likely extreme work-load, Vaughn's new wife (assumed), her mom nowhere close and possibly her father working with Sloan again this should be an interesting test for her character. Heck, even Marshall has (had?) a girlfriend.

I was wondering when and how her romantic relationship with Vaughn would get eliminated. They couldn't keep those 2 together and so happy (foreshadowed in every ep since the death of SD-6) for too long, that's not entertaining. ;)

I almost went thermal with about 30 seconds to go in the show. Just as Vaughn was about to drop the big news on Sydney, during one of the long and uncomfortable pauses, the local station busted in with a commercial for tonight's local news. GAH!!!! It just popped in there and right out -

SPOILERS (highlight to view)

Vaughn: They asked me to come back to come back and, um. Um, explain...
Syd (in tears): What are you talking about?
Vaughn: *grabs head*

COMMERCIAL BREAK FOLLOWED BY ME SCREAMING, NOOOO!!!

Vaughn: *shakes head* Syd, since that night, you were missing. *big sigh* You've been missing for almost 2 years.

Shocking glazed look from Syd, dramatic music. ALIAS

Did I miss anything?!?!

And what the heck was up with that scar on her stomach?

Didn't she get the scar from her knockdown, dragout fight with Evil Francie?
Well, probably but why show that? The only thing I can think of is to show the passage of time between the fight and the present. I was thinking it had more significance than that. Maybe not...

If you remember the very first show...she was captured and being questioned. What if everything that has been going on has been brain washing. :)

Did Syd get stabbed or slashed with a knife or glass? I don't remember.

I knew I should've taped it. :)
