Alright, who's playing post-apocalypse?

Post-apoc or not?

So, who's playing in a post-apocalyptic game? D20 or not, LARP, anything. Lapsed campaigns, games you're just about to start, and campaigns you've just finished count.

Thank ya, thank ya.

Omega World all the way. We ahve a great Omega World game with some of the most bizarre mutants we've ever had the enjoyment of gaming with, including a giant ladybug. The humour there is that throughout the Omega World rules, they warn you that you might get eaten by a giant ladybug, they just failed to warn you that the giant ladybug in question was going to be part of your team (and had not read the game so didn't know about the Giant Ladybug jokes).

Better... the giant ladybug almost ate one of the player characters during an astral projection misunderstanding before I told them about the joke.

I'm using a bunch of old Gamma World modules from ages past, from various editions of the game - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th ed's.

Yep.. I have a few friends testing out d20 Apoc for me and talking to a few others concerning branching out the NPC Designer engine into that area.

I love playing in PA campaigns.

Problem is that I seem to be the only one in our group that has any interest in PA camapigns so they never get played though I have started a great many the lack of interest has killed just about everyone. Its kinda hard to GM when your Players don't want to play int he campaign. :\

Haven't in a while, though I'm planning on running one using the d20 Future and/or Apocalypse rules. However, if I did get a game going, I'd most likely have something based off of classic post-apoc games like Wasteland and Fallout.

Then again, my g/f mentioed she'd be a bit interested in a post-apoc game then had the catastrope occur earlier: say between the late 40's/early 50's to the late 50's/early 60's. Survivors would be running around with earlier-era weapons & gear, & there'd be less of the modern tech or near-future tech that often creeps into these games (like intelligent AI's, cybernetics, etc.). Sounds interesting, though I'm really leaning for a Fallout-like game.

Yeah, Omega World and Judge Dredd are the 2 d20 games I'm even interested in anymore. I count JD as post-apoc in flavor, especially the elements outside Mega-City One. But OW is the best I've found so far. I ran a sweet OW campaign using the adventures from Alternity Gamma World. I liked it so much I bought an extra copy and gave another to a friend. He ran a game that sadly hasn't been offered for a while.

Of course, I've played and run Rifts. My buddy ran 2 Rifts games. I played in one for a couple of years. They were all pretty fun, even though one was short-lived. Another one morphed into OW, which was great by me. My own game turned to the DragonStar rules and then to OW before it fell apart.

Our weekly group is playing Systems Failure now. Me and the other DM played a Hell on Earth mini-adventure from the free Savage Worlds Test Drive 4.0 rules today. We had a blast with it. I'll probably run it for the group in 2 weeks as a filler game. Hopefully, it will encourage another player to resume his old HOE game with the new reloaded rules due this fall.

The PA genre is just fun to me. It presents all the struggles of a fantasy game with respect to resources without all the complications of magic. The world needs exploration even though familiar. Plus, gun-fu is fun; especially when you're trying to save ammo.

What surprises me about this poll is the large percentage of negative votes. Based on the plethora of post-apocalyptic products published, I would think there is a big market for them. If almost half of RPGers have not and will not play P-A, what's driving them? It's just interesting.
