An argument for gnomes (Eberron)

Keith just posted a fascinating look at the nation of Zilargo (a country run by gnomes, for those non-Eberrron fans) in his blog. I'm pretty sure his POV isn't something most got from the setting and it's pretty unique.

Thaks for posting that. I love his take on the Trust, and not (well, not only) because that's exactly the way I see it. I'd love to give my players/PCs a look at the Trust and Zilargo too, but the bums refuse to go there. We had a point in the game where they could go to Zilargo or to Yarkuun Draal, a fallen Dhakaani fortress which has been overrun by aberrations for millennia, and they all thought it would be safer to go to Yarkuun Draal :)

I will feel pretty burned if 12 months after the PHB is released is considered "soon" for the publication of gnomes.

Also, with the grumblings that PHB2may be psionics based to help eberron and its inherent psionicness. This worries me from the standpoint of there is a possiblity then (and a good one if I read into how 'streamlined' everything is to become) that gnomes would be a psionic race. I am quite sorry but if gnomes are not only released in the PHB2 a full YEAR after the release of the game system only to make them psionic i quit .

just a thought.

Save the Gnomes!!

That's not the grumbling. The discussion has been that the PHB series will each include a few different power sources (and I have no idea where that came from). There hasn't been any suggestion that the PHBII will be the 4E Psionics Handbook, just that it will likely introduce them to 4E, along with other things.

I'd much rather see them in an Eberron-specific supplement along with the changeling, shifter, and warforged.

Let's reserve PHB2 for the psionic races :P
