Does anyone even "get" how it ended.

This series has always been a confusing one for me.

Everyone died and Dylan hunt became a god? I just dont get it.

We must not have watched the same ep then, cause the one I just watched was at a data library with an abyss agent and a program sucking up and erasing data.

Now the teaser for next week could be what you are talking about. If what you describe is true, sounds reasonable considering all the ego I keep hearing Mr. Hercules has.

With Fireworks going out of business and Sci-Fi saying they cannot foot the bill to produce anymore seasons...does not look good for the commonwealth.

The problem with the show is they (like ST:E) is they lacked direction and focus, changing the show season after season.

I have to ask, am I the only one who finds this show now painfully hard to watch? I used to quite enjoy the show in previous seasons. Recently though, it has become awful.

You are not alone. :)

Quite. It used to be a regular on my calendar. After Sorbo got full control, though, it went downhill big time.

First season was rather good. 2nd was the start of the decline, and 3rd season I stoped watching after the second episode. so, you are not alone in beliving that the series is awful.
Of course, if you've heared about Sorbo's complaints about scripts, and other matters you know why it went downhill.

Tell me about it. The series had a great deal of potential, but when Robert Hewitt Wolfe left the show in disgust midway into the second season, primarily over Sorbo's comments, the show just lost any sort of drive and focus. Whomever was in charge needed to keep a bloody leash on Sorbo, because he should never have been given the opportunity to take control like that. I honestly think that this man is going to have a little trouble finding work after what happened over Andromeda... no writer/producer is going to want him staging another coup.

Your post really should have a "spoiler" tag, for those people who might actually care about how the series finale pans out.

Having said that...

You put your finger right on it. It's not just that the show isn't much fun to watch; it's actually very hard to keep up with. Last night's episode was a good example. I didn't know what was going on with the characters going in and out of the data-net deal, morphing back and forth into other characters.

In addition, the self-righteous ruthlessness of Hunt's character makes him pretty unlikeable IMO. He routinely commits fairly cruel acts in a very glib and pompous manner. If he were portrayed as an outright bastardly antehero, that could be enjoyable, but he's portrayed as this lantern-jawed savior of the universe while he's blowing up planets full of people.
