Angel 11-19 *SPOILERS*

LightPhoenix

First Post
Eve really needs to die. Now I'm glad I'll get the chance to see that.

No Wesley!!! :(

Again, I can't say it enough, Gunn needs to be given more presence, because Mr. Richards is a damn fine actor, and it's a shame he's being relegated more to the background.

Great fight between Angel and Spike, and the interludes with Drusilla were cool.

Who was that guy Eve was with in the end? I have the feeling we're supposed to know him from somewhere. Was it the guy in the box that Lindsey freed way back when, when Angel learned of the prophecy?

I thought that actually was Lindsey.

But it's been awhile since I've seen that character, so I may have forgotten what he looks like. :)

Yes, that sure looked and sounded like Lindsey to me.

Muhahahahaa....

I am sure he didn't have all those tattoos before.

Another thing I thought was great about the Angel/Spike fight was what they had to say to each other, like why Spike's presence bugs Angel so much.

No doubt, that was Lindsey. I didn't see that one coming. Funny, I was just thinking about that character the other day and wondered what the writing team would ever bring him back for. Very cool. :)

LightPhoenix, the "guy" in the box was Darla.

Oh yeah, that was Lindsay all right. I'll bet those tattoos and runes on the wall are some sort of scrying bane to keep the senior partners out of the loop. Now the big question: does everything unexplained so far this season have to do with these two? The amulet, the "flash" box, the ninja cyborgs, et al? To those who think I'm reaching, consider: the ninja cyborg attack so unnerved Wesley that he had to leave town for a while, leaving inside man Sirk to slip Angel and Spike the bad translation.

Excellent episode, maybe the best I've seen all season. High points:

The glimpse of Angel and Spike as buddies back in the day. The trailers made this ep look mostly like a flashback story, and I was glad it was used sparingly. Gave a good deal of insight into their mutual hatred.

Spike's first needs upon regaining a body: Blood and blonde. In that order.

Spike steals Angel's Viper and blasts Dead Kennedys. How did I know he'd listen to Dead Kennedys, and not, say, Blink 182?

That fight was a doozy. Maybe one of the best knockdown-dragouts I've ever seen on a Joss show.

Angel at the end. "...he wanted it more." This season's definitely going in some very interesting moral directions.

And how could I forget Lindsay? He was one of the more enjoyable nemeses Angel's faced, and I for one have missed him since the second season. Lilah seems to have become everyone's favorite evil lawyer, but Lindsay always struck me as the dark reflection of Angel; a mostly-good guy who'd sold his soul to some very bad people. So what kind of badness has he been up to?

And when's the next episode?

and THIS boys and girls is why we watch the show and worship at the altar of Joss.

an amazing episode all around, making me eat my words that Wesley has to have an important role for an episode to work, although his absence makes the whole thing possible...

i kinda caught on that it was a set-up, and that eve was sorta behind it after fred started to trust her, but who coulda seen the real mastermind...

LEFTY!

I always liked Lefty. This should be fun.

Too bad that its time for the holidays and episodes when they feel like it. Are there even gonna be anymore before the new year?

Well, this episode makes it official...
THIS IS THE BEST SEASON OF ANGEL EVER.

Good points? Lets see...
Spike
Spike becoming corporeal
Spike beating Angel
Wolfram & Hart taking center stage
and finally, the piece de resistance....
LINDSEY!!!!! My personal favourite badguy ever in the buffyverse. (OK, with the possible exception of Spike&Angel themselves)

I must say, throughout most of the episode I thought Drusilla was going to be the special guest star they were bringing in (And in a way she was, I guess, with the flashbacks..). At first I thought she would be the 'cup of eternal torment' they had to drink from.. Probably a deliberate Mislead (Damn you Joss and your writers, why do you have to be more clever even than I?) BUT I figured I was wrong when they started fighting over the cup.

Still, that spoiler I heard about somebody coming back from the past... It didn't click until Eve opened the door and I saw the writings..
My thinking: "someones blocking out the higher powers including the senior partners.. someone who knows how to do it.. Someone who REALLY doesn't like angel and knows Wolfram and Hart inside and.. *CLICK* OH MY GOD DID THEY FINALLY BRING HIM BACK?" Cut to her getting undressed, then getting in bed and the camera scrolling up and me saying "BOOYA!!" I actually had to rewind the tape to hear what he said.
(Speaking of which, I think I just pulled one of the luckiest break I've ever had regarding a tv show.. I set the vcr to record Smallville and Angel b/c i wouldn't be home, and I end up getting perhaps my favourite Angel ep ever on tape? woohoo!)

Anyways, with Lindsey back I think that gives WAY too much meaning to the phrase "It wasn't me, It was the one-armed man." hehe. loveditloveditlovedit.

SO in other news, I'm taking bets... Who's the vampire from the prophecy... What's your guys gonna be?

I've got 100 riding on Spike.

(BTW, mods, just joke.. no real betting, k? ;) )

I'm new to Angel and the Buffyverse, can someone tell me who this Lindsey guy is? What's his history with Spike and Angel?

And when did Spike and Angel become good guys? Were they both villains in the early seasons of Buffy and then get redeemed? Or were they always good guys on the show and their evil past was told in flashbacks and stuff?

Also what was/is each of their relationships (Angel/Spike/Fred/Wes...etc.) to Buffy? What happened to Buffy? How did the Buffy series end?

I never watched Buffy. Not one episode. Can someone give me a run down of the major Buffy story arcs and plot points? I'm sure there are fan sites with complete transcripts of every episode but I don't want to sit and read through all that.

Also, who are the major players in the Buffyverse? Who is the Initiate? Who are the Wolfram & Hart senior partners? Who are the Watchers? Who are the Slayers? Who or What are all the other power groups that have come and gone?

I know generally what and who certain people are from just watching the show and picking up details. But it would be nice if someone could spell it all out for me.

All those that missed Lindsey, rejoice. Cause I know I'm happy! :) I'm so stoked by having a grandmaster LIKE Lindsey back. Cause you know he's planning revenge not just on Angel but also the Senior Partners. I personally can't wait. :)

Lindsey, for those not familiar was partners of a sort with Lilah in Wolfram and Hart. He was a great nemesis from the 1st and 2nd seasons of Angel. He has no history with Spike...yet, but with Angel, well it's thanks to Angel that Lindsey was called Lefty for a while. (Angel cut off Lindsey's hand and that got to Lindsey until they got him a replacement limb.)
