Angel Renewed + Spoilers

I only read the first paragraph and not the spoilers from Buffy. For those who don't want to be spoiled or don't want to click the link:

Basically, most of the old Firefly and Buffy writers are going over to Angel for next season and supposedly this season's finale is supposed to be great (written by Tim Minear). Sweet.

That's great news. The renewal alone is great news, let alone that most of Joss' team is going to head over to Angel.

I just got hooked on the show last weekend (Season 1, Episode 8) and it'd have been a real kick to the junk if it had been cancelled shortly thereafter.

Are reruns airing anywhere, so I can catch Season 2-3 without having to wait a year for them to come out on DVD? I know Buffy is syndicated on FX.

Shows don't generally get syndicated until after they've been on the air for four seasons - 100 episodes is generally the magic number, so I would expect to see reruns sometime in the fall. I wouldn't be surprised to see them showing on FX in conjunction with the Buffy reruns.

Sweet! My favorite show stays alive! In any case, can't wait for tonight's ep and of course the season ending. (Course it be nice to see the Series finale of Buffy too.)

I thought it was 88 episodes, since a "season" usually comprises 22 episodes.

Actually, they go by number of episodes and not by number of seasons, to qualify for syndication. As mentioned earlier, 100 is the magic number.

I have to wait for confirmation. Only the Ain't it Cool web site is announcing the show's renewal. No other web site, particularly the ones I visited regularly, have said anything yet.

I know that James Marsters may be heading to Angel, but if that show does not pick up, then he'll be unemployed ... briefly. He has a guest role on Andromeda. If Tyr goes out, then his character can step in, although it would be hard to do so considering he is the leader of the Sabra-Jaguar Pride, and his wife have a thing for Dylan.

Even so, I do think it would be interesting to see him take over Tyr's reigns.
