Any ENWorlders picked up Mecha & Manga yet?

Because, gods know, the first thing I need is to drop more money on RPG items. :) Is this the next M&M fix, just like the good doctor ordered. . . :hmm:

What's in it? Is it any good? If you have a copy (of the PDF), please post here!

I picked it up on release day. I have to admit I have only skimmed it, not having the time for a more in-depth read, but so far I like what I see. I am not an anime/manga fan, so I can't speak for how well it covers such topics. I bought it primarily for crunch, and it seems to have a lot of that. There are a lot of new character options, including additional rules and guidelines for martial arts. The mecha rules seem slim but serviceable. There is a social combat system that I have heard is a good extended action/skill challenge-type system at its core.

So far it seems like a better deal for the money that Warriors & Warlocks.

I'm glad that they finally flushed out the last of the PL cap shifting feats (Withstand Damage), I think it is one of the few feats that people will really have to think about before using. Yes, you can take a -5 to defense and then be able to shrug off a lot, but that -5 to defense will kill you if the opponents use anything but a toughness attack. Its a much bigger gamble than power attack or the others.

I also really like all the flavor feats that are in there: Zen Strike, Sense Murderous intent, Ninja Run, Demonic Glare. Very nice.

I had a chance to skim (I read it in playtest, but it's always interesting to see the final product) part of it -- up through the feats & powers chapter -- and I really like what's in there.

In addition to the feats Shalimar mentioned, I like Up the Wall (or, as I like to call it, the Jackie Chan feat), Last Stand, and Fake Expert ("I bluff the universe").

Slap Silly is also very flavorific, but also very useful.
