Any GSL Updates from WOTC or 3rd Party publishers?

Najo

First Post
Now that the GSL has been in our hands for over a week and a half, I assume that WOTC has recieved alot of questions and concerns, while the 3rd party publishers are going over it with their lawyers and determining what their plan is?

Can WOTC or any of the 3rd party publishers address any of the common concerns 3rd party publishers are bringing up?

Also, what 3rd party publishers are still publishing under the 4e GSL and how do you plan to approach making 4e materials and still protect your intellectual properties?

I'm guessing we'll find out more in a week (maybe a little less). The GSL has a 14 day waiting period built in before approved publishers can begin using the logo/legal text, IIRC. If Goodman/AE add said GSL logo/legal text to their website, then we'll know their situation.

This may be a bit pedantic, but they can not add the logo to their site according to the terms of the GSL... They may however announce plans to use it.

Sure you can. You have to use the logo that comes with the materials. What makes you think you can't use the logo?

The site itself cannot be licensed under the GSL, however, nothing says you can't have advertisements for a licensed product on the site.

(But you'd have to use their logo/text on there somewhere.)

Because the contract explicitly forbids the licensing of websites, and the only way to use the logo directly is on licensed products. Sure, one could post a picture of a product that itself contained the logo. But thats about the extent of that if my reading of the GSL is correct.
