True. What we are lacking is consistency, we know we can beat any team if we try hard enough, as games against England and Spain have shown.

With regards who cares, I think you underestimate what it means to people here. This is our national sport and its a sort of David vs. Goliath thing going on, we are the perennial underdogs (except against Iceland) and victories over one of the world powers of football is virtually akin to winning the world cup for us!

Every Ulsterman will have went to work this morning with a smile on their face, a swell in their chest and an extra swagger in their walk.

As a Liverpool supporter I do of course support all the Liverpool players when they play at international level in all circumstances EXCEPT when they play against Northern Ireland of course.
