D&D 5E Anyone played any high level 5E?

Yes. I've been running two groups at high levels.
The first group is a homebrew game. We've hit level 12. The PCs have been levelling at an increased pace so we can get through more levels and try things out. We have a bard in that one, and cutting words is a very effective power. Our eldritch knight has also been very effective throughout. That said, the mummy lord did turn two PCs to dust in two separate battles, so PCs are far from immortal.
The second group is running the Tyranny of Dragons adventure. We're at level 13 currently. We have a flying Arakokka paladin with the oath of vengeance; he's equipped with a glaive and a pair of feats that let him make opportunity attacks when people enter his reach, then stop their movement on a hit. It's potent, but it takes his reaction. We have an elven bard who casts spells and uses a bow very capably. Her contagion spell (aquired via that 'pick any spell' bard feature) is especially deadly. We have a tiefling ranger who is very thankful for her fire resistance. She's an engine of destruction with her lightning arrows and hunter's mark, but she's not usually as flashy as the others. We have a human cleric of the trickster who has chosen not to pick any healing spells. He's the most likely one to break an encounter with various buff spells or by using stoneshape. Take a look at heroes' feast, for instance; 24 hour duration poison immunity. 6th level spell, though. And lastly, we have a half-orc wizard (he has glasses of intellect which give him all his intelligence, if they ever come off he can't cast spells). He's been pretty devastating on the battlefield with cone of cold, fireball, and all manner of other blasty spells. Both he and the elf are newish characters, rolled up to replace fallen characters a few sessions ago, so we haven't had a chance to see all their tricks yet.
The difference? 5th Edition flows much faster than either 3rd or 4th. It does slow down at higher levels, but it still feels fairly quick. And man, big bad creatures with legendary actions are fun.
