When using Arcane Reach with a Close Burst attack, the origin square is still unaffected, correct?

The wording for Burst (pg 272) implies differently.
"Unless a description notes otherwise, a close burst you create does not affect you."
It seems that the property of excluding squares with a burst is not with the origin square, but the position of the caster. You can change the location of the origin square, but excluding a square from the effect is a different property of close attacks.

Yeah, it would seem odd for there to be a hole in the middle of it.
