Bless does this against evil targets. How powerful is this ability?

Would it be a +1 or +2 enchantment?

How about in a feat for a specific weapon?

Thoughts? Comments? Balance Issues? Insults? Flames? All Welcome... ;)

I believe Caliban came up with a weapon enhancement that did just this. IIRC, it was a +3 modifier, and the keen enhancement did not stack with it. I believe improved critical counted though.

In my version of it, Improved Crit works with it, but nothing else.
 


Has anyone seen house rules for balanced magical abilities or feats which can improve a threat range? You know, f'when an Improved Critical Keen Rapier just doesn't cut it.
 


There is a feat in the NetBook of Feats called Vital Strike that allows any Critical Threat to automatically become a Critical, but it is the only place I have seen such a feat as it is rather unbalancing.

Even if keen is not allowed, an Improved Critical user with an 18-20/x2 base weapon would automatically be doing Double Damage on any roll of 15-20 (ie: 30% of the time).

Seems a tad unbalanced. Now throw in weapon modifications like Serrated that makes the base weapon a 17-20/x2, with improved critical it drops to 13-20/x2 (ie: 65% of the time).

Now deity-forbid its a Rogue who has a minimum of a +5d6 Sneak attack by the time they can get Improved Critical....

You can see my point.
