High concept horror is having a bonafide era right now.
Young, untested directors with fresh ideas making a lot of money with horror. That's fantastic.
And the new Star Wars movie is down to #3 in box office, in its second week in theaters.

A lot of folks in Hollywood working with franchises are likely a little nervous right now.
I mean...good. Superhero fatigue might be more like franchise or sequel fatigue. People want something new and fresh instead of endless rehashing.
 




It's horrific when you consider how many places in RL can have that liminal feeling.
Parking garages for malls that have gone out of business, speaking from personal experience, especially given how echoey they are. Was that a rat several floors away? Is someone on this floor with me? And why did I think parking here to avoid fees on the street was a good idea, given how late I'd be coming back to my car?
