Base damage + MoS System for Combat

I use a different combat mechanic in my d20 Nexus system. I thought that some other people might like it too for their games.

Basically all weapons have a base damage based on how much you would see that weapon doing to someone. If you wanted to you could just use the average values for those weapons from the PHB.
Now add the margin of success you get from your roll over their defense as additional damage.

So if their defense (AC) was an 18 and you rolled a 10 + your attack bonus as a total of 24 then you would add 6 + base damage as your attack total. If you roll a crit add +5 to your total.

Simple, fast, and lethal. No more rolling a great roll or a crit and then rolling two 1s on the damage roll. No additional rolling. One roll all done!
