Battlestar Galactica 2/25/05 SPOILERS!

First Post
I'm surprised no one else had started a thread.

Anyway, I thought this episode ROCKED!!

I thought at first that Starbuck was not being as strong a character as I thought she was in the interrogation at first. Boy did they turn that around quick! Kick that Cylon's a$$!

The plot on Caprica seems to be on a little different path than I thought. It still seems to me they want to attempt to breed, however why have Helo and Boomer build a life together? Observation?

So I must have missed something along the way with the Cylon detector. I thought it was just a ruse to get a hold of a nuclear warhead and it was bogus. Now, it seems that the test actually works. What did I miss?

I don't know what was cooler, the Cylon naming Adama as one of them or the President ordering it to be sucked out the airlock.

I'm not sure I liked Starbuck warming up to the Cylon at the end there, did you?

Best episode this year.

Reveals vital plot info, as well as valuable insights into the Cylon mind.

Favorite moments:
1. The President dumping the Cylon out of the airlock.
2. Baltar frantically hitting the keyboard, making those lights turn green.
3. Six openly revealing her contempt for the Boomer model.

Lesser Moments:
1. Starbuck Do'Urden. Best shot in the fleet? Starbuck. Best pilot in the fleet? Starbuck. Best interrogator in the fleet? Oy vey.

Well, it probably works. We've never seen it used on anyone that's not a Cylon (it's only been used on Sharon); it might say everyone's a Cylon, and/or it might not be completely reliable.

Maybe the Colonel would have been better, but I think Starbuck was pretty much the only other possiblity there. They're the only major characters that could be plausible interrogators (well, Six would be, but for obvious reasons, Adama can't use her).

Another fantastic episode; I'm eager to learn more about the Lords of Kobol (sp?). I remember a mention someplace of the colonists worshipping the Greek Pantheon, but there had really been no mention of it until this episode.

But I mean, damn. I wasn't expecting the President to be that ruthless with the Cylon.

When Six told Baltar to ask for a nuclear warhead, he realized how it could be done through that. It wasn't just bogus, but it was a very quick moment.

Thank you much!!

Agree 100%, unfortunately it is an artifact of the medium. Even with an ensemble cast there are only so many "main" characters and they are going to get the spotlight 99% of the time.

Or perhaps the machine is just window dressing, any actual results come straight from Baltar's subconscious.

Baltar is the Cylon detector, he just doesn't know it. :D

Col Tigh, Lee Adam or even Lt. Gaeta would all be plausible choices. Or introduce a disposable character specifically for the role, with Kara (or whomever) along as an observer.

Regarding Caprica...I'm wondering if the thing they are searching for is more love than breeding. In some texts, Love shows one's soul. And Cylons are rather pre-occupied with their monotheistic beliefs.

The Starbuck doing everything thing doesn't bug me so much once you realize that there's only 50,000 people in the whole fleet. There just isn't much to choose from. And Starbuck is off active duty anyway, so she's not taking anything away from flight patrols, etc.
