Battlestar Galactica Season 1 DVD set

This is for those of us in Region 2, who are fortunate enough to have the set in shops already (it came out on March 28th over here in the UK). I bought it straight away on the day of release and have now watched through all 13 episodes. It is a good set, though very sparse on the extras, with just a trailer for the forthcoming Buck Rogers in the 25th Century season 1 DVD set (no thanks!!), and a whole load of deleted scenes from the episodes, most of which I think should have been left in the episodes and were probably only removed due to time constraints.

I'm disapointed in the total lack of commentaries, the Babylon 5 sets only had 3 per season, but none is a new low. Hopefully they can improve on this set with the season 2 box which will likely be out about this time next year. I don't have Sky TV so this was the first time I had seen any of these episodes. I started watching them alone, by the end of the first batch of eps' both of my housemates were glued to the screen also.

I am surprised there is no commentary, since the Sci-Fi website does offer podcasts for the episodes since at least "Hand of God". Maybe they are planning a "Extended Version" DVD?

If you want commentaries, I really suggest you go to their site (I have only the direct link to the Blog, but that´s nice too: http://blog.scifi.com/battlestar/) and download them. (Can be found in the download and in the episodes sections)

I think he's talking about the original series.
