Hi all,

Animal Archives: Prehistoric Animals II and III have been completed and are currently in production. So, if you're looking for fearsome prehistoric monsters to fill the dark corners of your campaign world, then you need look no further. Some of strangest and deadliest animals to walk, swim, or crawl have found a home in the pages of future Animal Archives products.

Also, if there's an animal you'd like to see done in a future Animal Archives product, shoot me an email or just reply to this thread. I'm always open to suggestions.

Here's the list of critters for the next two Prehistoric Animals volumes:

Animal Archives: Prehistoric Animals II
  • Andrewsarchus - the largest mammalian predator ever
  • Anomolocaris - the world's first super-predator
  • Arthropleura - a giant millipede and contender for the largest arthropod ever
  • Doedicurus - a giant armored glyptodont with a spiked tail
  • Euchambersia - a bizarre mammal-like reptile with a poisonous bite
  • Gastornis - a giant flightless bird that preyed upon hapless mammals in the Eocene forests
  • Hesperornis - the giant, fully aquatic bird of the Late Cretaceous
  • Megalania - the monstrous monitor lizard from Pleistocene Australia
  • Pterygotus - a colossal sea scorpion
  • Rhamphorhynchus - a small pterosaur
  • Sarocsuchus - the king of crocodiles
Animal Archives: Prehistoric Animals III
  • Archelon – the world’s largest turtle
  • Cameroceras – the giant orthocone from the Ordovician
  • Dinofelis – a smaller relative of the fearsome saber-toothed tiger
  • Haast’s Eagle – a giant eagle for ancient Australia
  • Inostrancevia – a massive, predatory gorgonopsid
  • Liopleurodon – a giant pliosaur, and contender for largest carnivore of all time
  • Megeneura – the giant dragonfly of the Carboniferous

Man, I love this series! I'm just throwing some ideas out there for other animals:

Trilobites. I'm not sure if they had any offensive capabilities at all, but the largest trilobite ever, Isotelus, was over two feet long.

Glyptodon was an ancestor to the armadillo, and about the size of a car.

Any of the terror birds, particularly andalgalornis.

Also, on a related note, a product of natural freaks and mutations, based on real-world examples of such, might be interesting to do (especially if some could be configured as templates).

Thanks. Be sure to look for Animal Archives: Dinofiles I - Raptor Pack next week.

Yeah, trilobites are a little inoffensive for a monster book, but there are some massive arthropods on the way (Pterygotus, Arthropleura)

Way ahead of you. Doedicurus is in Prehsitoric Animals II. It was the largest of the glyptodontids.

Well, Gastornis is in book II, and it's an early terror bird. But, that said, I've been looking at others, and Andalgornis is on the short list for inclusion in a future product.

I really like that idea. I've also been playing around with evolving certain animals into humanoid form.

This is such a great product! More please...

...and Templates and Master At Arms, too. It's almost Christmas and I need to buy myself some sweet Doom to inflict upon my campaigns.

Don't worry, more is on the way. Dinofiles - Raptor Pack will be released tonight or tomorrow morning, and Master at Arms - Shieldbearer is due out next week.
