D&D 5E (2024) Best Arcane Caster. Sorcerer VsWizard. Dungeon Dudes: Sorcerer "Won"

Sorcerers dont get most Summoning spells.

Summoning, Spellbook Rituals, Spell swaps, Prepared Spells and Spell Versatility are the main things Wizards have over Sorcerer.

Sorcerer has Brute Magic Force and Cantrips.

Aware. Some subclasses get them and conjuration adds 2 good spells. Can only concentrate on 1. The others an emanation effect.

Extend them and its 2 hours duration, proficiency in con saves, advantage on concencentration saves and charisma to concentration.

Combine that with Sorcerer blasting.....

And sorcerer then is hit with a simple sleep spell.
Incapacitated. Concentration broken without another save.

And how many monsters can cast sleep in the MM?

Vs concentration probably every combat?
Those that matter. Or any other spell that incapacitates.

Also you can't just count the percentage in the Monster Manual. Usually you fight a lot more humanoids than Monsters.

Honestly, the best species for the sorcerer is a gnome which gives advantage on mental saves. I'd even consider mage slayer on them, before I even think about taking an aracana unleashed feat.

I'm seeing a gnome cleric in action. My players guide specifically mentioned mental saves eoukd be more common than typical.

Video did point point the wizards better wisdom save..... mostly a +2 or 3.

They're a lot more common tier 3 and 4. Levels people dont play at. Peak wizard lvl 11-16. Campaigns usually end by then. Or very early in that range.

Wizard essentially has no good saves. Intelligence saves are very rare. Wisdom is 4th best stat tertiary at best.

That is some interesting hypothesis...

Mental saves are essential. Because those are the saves that actually kill the players. Fear, charm, incapacitation. Dominate.

True but wizard bonus there is very minor and situational.
Clerics and Druids might actually be the best spellcasters at lvls that matter.

A +2 or 3 bonus potentially with advantage is huge.

Meta play i would argue is initiative manipulation to drop one of those nukes 1st. Alert feat, cartographers/artificers in general.

All depends on the campaign.

Also, the players should be looking to maximum their effectiveness when choose which type of adventures to undertake.

Maybe. But wizards are in no way left behind. We are talking about apples and oranges.

Again, you have blinded yourself to a certain type of adventure.

There is no meta without a specific game being played. That's why we say even minor patches change MMO / competitive game metas.
