Black Company RPG sneak peak at KamCon!

The Black Company is on my list right after Sabriel. Is the audio book version bad?
These days I like to mix my media, one book as a book, one as an ebook, and one as an audio book.

In any case, the rpg sounds rad! Do y'all think you could run a Malazan style campaign with it? After all, Malazan is supposed to be heavily influenced by The Black Company, and probably my favourite fantasy series.
I didn’t know about Malian and will have to check it out. Thank you.

I don’t know about the quality of the audio book but I really enjoy reading Glen Cooks writing.

Only players roll dice, freeing the GM to interpret & improvise
Ooops. That's backwards.

Have you never played RPG where the GM never rolls dice? Cypher system, Symbaroum? It's actually fun and freeing not having to roll attacks and damage. Whatever happens it's the players fault for rolling bad! They kill themselves! :ROFLMAO: (also no fudging possible).
Pirate Borg works this way as well -- I even have my players roll the things that the GM could roll, RAW -- and it's definitely less cognitive load for the GM, keeps players more engaged and, yeah, that bad roll was your own dice, man.

Never have or going to play a ttrpg where GMs don't roll. Not my jam. Also, bad GMs lie about their dice rolls. Great GMs roll in the open.
