Well, sort of. This is the trailer for one of the upcoming season's episodes (each episode of Black Mirror is standalone and totally different).

Where something like Orville or Galaxy Quest parodies Trek in a humorous way, Black Mirror is dark satire.

You have three seasons of delight ahead of you then, plus a new one very soon!

Each episode is completely different and standalone. The overall theme is a dark satirical look at technology and society in the future; usually it's near-future, but some episodes like that Trek-inspired one are clearly further ahead.

I don't find I love every episode - some of the issues it addresses don't really resonate with me - but I love over half of them.

That was a really good episode. Dark and creepy. I really think Charlie Brooker is one of my favourite writers.

I think this satirises Trek better than what I’ve seen of Orville (we’ve only had a couple of episodes though).

The guy playing the captain channeled Shatner well.

I didn’t quite get why when he realised they had stolen the ship and headed for the wormhole he couldn’t just use his “god” powers rather than physically chase them in a shuttle.

Looked to me like J.J. Abrams' personal wet dream of Star Trek. Excellent parody. Even the 'god powers' not being used was like in Star Trek; 'because story.'

I’m on Arkangel (ep 2). Finding this one slow going. It’s about an implant which gives parents parental permission controls over the kids’ perception.

I found that one surprisingly predictable. I just finished Ep3 and it's dark. Even more so than most.
