Blackmoor books 3.5 How are they?

First Post
I hear that the books are being sold for five books a piece at Gen Con and since I'll be there tomorrow it might be good to pick them up. So, how are the books? Anything great or anything to avoid in them?

I have the core book and wizard's cabal and I like them both. I'm a fan of the setting, though. I think the core book did a great job of capturing the feel of the original DA supplements.

Wizard's cabal has some alternate magic rules, and also some good background on the cabal themselves, who are sort of creepy in a Psicorp kind of way.

Sounds like an awesome sale. I never had a chance to get some of the later books and have been wanting to. :erm:

The core book, Clock & Steam and Temple of the Frog are my favorites.

Dungeons of Castle Blackmoor is probably the one I like the least, but then I never cared much for mega-dungeons. It does have some interesting features though.

If you are getting into Age of the Wolf, all of the 3.5 books may be useful as background information...

I wanted to pick up Dungeons of Castle Blackmoor, but just never got around to it. I thought it was a really interesting book. :)

For geek completeness, you need the core book and the Castle Blackmoor book. I like the core book more, but I've never really used either.

There's a 3.5e Temple of the Frog? Cool, I need that too. :)

On WotC's site there is Adventures: Return to the Temple of the Frog

I think it was meant for d20 modern... but I think it's actually written for 3.5.

There is a d20 modern page for it here Adventures: Return to the Temple of the Frog

I think they are the same.

That's bizarre! I knew about the adventure, but I never knew they also included it in the D20Modern section. The links to the pdf appear to be identical though, so its not actually a D20Modern adventure. Also, there's not much in it to suggest that this would be anything but a D&D adventure IMO.
