Recency bias is a thingif you do not remember your favorite TTRPG, chances are it isn’t actually your favorite

Lately, it’s been my favorite bias. I forgot my favorite bias before that one.Recency bias is a thing
Well it would not have alienated WoD fans like it did me, I wouldn't be surprised if majority of WoD players saw only VtM included and didn't bother voting at all.I am having difficulty imagining what you think would have changed in the poll results had Bob included all 11 or so WW/WoD games.
Right, because without ranked choice it is most people's favorite.tolerable, yes, but I have several D&D-likes ahead of actual 5e / 5.5. It comes in at about fourth or fifth place among just those… so definitely not second favorite
I would not count on it being everyone’s second choice if it wasn’t their first in ranked voting either
Fair enough, I guess, but I wonder how much you, as a WoD fan, actually paid attention to Bob prior to this.Well it would not have alienated WoD fans like it did me, I wouldn't be surprised if majority of WoD players saw only VtM included and didn't bother voting at all.
So is nostalgia…Recency bias is a thing
As a GURPS fan, I'd never heard of him.Fair enough, I guess, but I wonder how much you, as a WoD fan, actually paid attention to Bob prior to this.
I am fan of various systems and did watch his videos before, tho not all of them. Due to these videos I think I will stop.Fair enough, I guess, but I wonder how much you, as a WoD fan, actually paid attention to Bob prior to this.
While the original ballot included about 140 game titles, so many people wrote-in, that the final list includes a whopping 813 TTRPGs!! (without counting editions for any game except D&D) It was a taxing but rewarding challenge to sort them all out!![]()
I suppose that would be a problem if I was trying to make an argument. I was just stating the facts of running a poll. If you don't have the options already there and have them only as write-ins, the write-ins are typically going to receive less as a matter of course. So is nostalgia…
So let me get this straight, you think there are people out there that do not remember their favorite RPG because they last played it 30 or so years ago, find this poll, can’t think of that game to write it in, do not find it on the list either to jog their memory, and then vote for something else.
Not only are there maybe a dozen of these people across the entire poll and different games, but they are numerous enough that one game they forgot could make it into the top 20 if only Bob hadn’t failed to include it in the list?
That is the argument, right? Good luck with that…
