Book of Nine Swords - Coolest Manuver?

Andor

First Post
What do you think was the coolest manuver or stance from the Book of Nine Swords? Which one made you think "I want a character that can do that?"

My vote gos for the 'Ballista Throw' (6th level Setting Sun.) What cooler visual can there be than grabbing some guy by the throat and throwing him through a group of his friends like a bowling ball through pins?

Although Firesnake (4th level Desert Wind) is also a mighty cool mental image. :D

I don't have the book yet but you might want to check out the WotC message boards. There are a couple of threads on the Character Optimization board that are all about the book and the INSANE combos you can make.

The tiger claw "blood fountain" maneuver that intimidates everyone who can see you drop foes is quite cool in an anime/army of darkness way.

I like several of the White Raven maneuvers that provide tactical bonuses to allies. Wolf Pack Tactics, Leading the Charge and White Raven Charge stick in my mind. I love the idea of a great soldier rallying troops to slice through a larger opposing force or harrying a huge creature until it dies.

Perhaps I should clarify. I don't mean "What is the most mechanically optimum maneuver?"

I mean "What manuever do you most want to see in the next D&D film?" or "What manuever can you see in your head that makes you say 'SWEET!'" or even "What manuver made your kid brother hyperactive for 3 hours just on hearing about it?"

What's cool?

Five-Shadow Creeping Ice Enervation Strike. Love the name.
Fact it does 15d6 + Regular Weapon damage on a hit plus a chance of one of the following:

2d6 Dex Damage and speed reduced to 0
2d6 Str Damage and -6 on attack rolls and Concentration Checks
2d6 Str Damage and 2d6 Dex damage and 2d6 Con damage.

There is a saving throw (DC 19+Wis modifier). If the target makes the save, they still take the 15d6 + Regular attack damage, they still take half of the abillity damage, they just negate the special condition effects.

Time Stands Still - Diamond Mind (Strike) - Warblade 9

As a full round action, take two full attack actions.

Added to

Dancing Blade Form - Iron Heart (Stance) - Warblade 5

Add 5 feet to your weapon reach.

Attack lots of people within 10 feet of you. Can you say mook muncher?

Glad you like the name! Doing the names was a lot of fun. Alas, a lot of the other "extreme names" didn't make it through development (maybe Mearls wants to comment on that?), but at least some of them, like this one, did.
