Brand New Gamer!

First Post
I normally don't post many personal things online, but I am absolutely gushing!

My wife and I welcomed our new little girl Charlotte home March 5th! Plan on showing her off to the group (her new uncles!) this weekend; can't wait until she is old enough to do some real gaming. I have a feeling this is one princess that won't need saving!

To stay on topic: Any other Daddy DM's want to share their stories of introducing gaming to their kids? Any funny/sweet moments? Do tell!

P.S. WOOHOO!

Played a lot of RPGs, had a load of fun; but it was a real privilege to be allowed into a young kid's imaginary world. Gave me a whole new angle on player choice.

Congratulations!

Congratz!!!!

I got a 15 month old boy and 3 month old girl. The boy had a great flanking manuever when he just learned to crawl. A natural born Gamer!

Enjoy the little bundle!

Congratulations and welcome to the club!!!! My "little" princess is now 17 and a senior in High School. I remember introducing her to gaming when she was about 7, she hated it. So, I did the right thing and let her do other stuff while we gamed, she came back to the table around age 12 and hasn't left since.

My key number one advice to you is, Don't be disappointed if she says I like X better than gaming or that she doesn't like it at all. Be supportive, understanding and hopeful that one day she comes back. BTW now she GMs and volunteers at True Dungeon also. :) And for some reason, I always have a steady stream of teenage boys at my gaming table... Did I mention to buy an Iron Maiden and a couple of thumb screws.
