D&D General Can you use a 2024 feat in a 2014 Champaing?

Except the official stance is the opposite its 1 edition.
It's one edition....but only one way.

5.0 is 5.5e, but the reverse is not true. All 5.0 content can be played in 5.5e, potentially with some wrinkles. No guarantee is offered in the other direction. Just like how all rational numbers are also real numbers, but most real numbers are not natural numbers.

So it's not 5.0 = 5.5e. It's 5.0 ⊂ 5.5e; 5.0 is contained inside 5.5e as a valid, if deprecated, subset.

As others have said, this is entirely up to your DM.

For most feats there's no rules reason you can't use them. On that note you could also use many of the Feats from A5E or Talents from Tales of the Valiant--but whether it's allowed must be determined with each table.
