Candlekeep

First Post
Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knew what 2nd edition products (possibly available as PDFs) had info on Candlekeep?

The PCs in one of my Forgotten Realms games are on their way there, and I was hoping to have a little more info than what is in the 3E FR Campaign Book.

Thanks in advance!

Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast has the most information on Candlekeep.

Further, a previous Dragon magazine (Dragon #255, IIRC) had a decent map of Candlekeep (outside the keep, but inside the surrounding wall) that was derived from the Baldur's Gate video game, along with some basic desriptions of what's there.

These two sources would do you quite well to give Candlekeep some life as well as consistency.

Wasnt Cadderly form R.A. Salvatore's Cleric Quintet from Candlekeep (wasnt the Edificant Library close to there?)? If so reading the novels may help, especially the 3rd ("The Night Masks").

Not really, Candlekeep is more up the middle of the Sword Coast. :) The Edificant Library is more south and east in Tethyr and Amn.

Yes, in the Snowflake Mountains...

Cadderly did have a cameo appearance in Candlekeep, though, in the original BG game.

Ah, been so long since I played that I don't recall that. But then so did El and Drizzt also. :)

You might want to also check out the Forgotten Realms section in the Maps and Other Campaign Resources in the link in my sig. The Virtual Fantasy site is quite good and has details from several different sources.
