I think the name sounds a bit silly, can we think of a better one that hasn't already been used? I'm struggling. Microjaunt? Not really. "Blip" on it's own is a little better.
Primarily for the squishies to get out of Melee, as most attack cantrips are ranged. I could see an Arcane Trickster getting a lot of use out of it. Maybe Eldritch Knight or Bladedancer could benefit from it to escape one melee attacker to get to another. Most "utility" cantrips don't scale, that's usually damage cantrips. They also scale at the entry to a new tier of play, 5th, 11th, and 17th level.
Is there some sort of character in mind for this spell? It's a little unclear to me who this is intended for.
I think we might disagree here about how desirable it is to let squishies have a resourcless way to get it off a bind.Primarily for the squishies to get out of Melee, as most attack cantrips are ranged.
I would suspect the latter two would be more interested, since this would be competing with cunning action. For those who don't have that conflict, how do you think this stacks up against blade ward or resistance ?I could see an Arcane Trickster getting a lot of use out of it. Maybe Eldritch Knight or Bladedancer could benefit from it to escape one melee attacker to get to another.
The difference being that Disengage and Move would get you 30 feet away from your opponent. Next round you are likely in melee range again.Well, I figure in most cases if it was an action, it would be easier to just do disengage, until you got into the extra things at higher levels.
Hazy Step.I think the name sounds a bit silly, can we think of a better one that hasn't already been used? I'm struggling. Microjaunt? Not really. "Blip" on it's own is a little better.
