The 2010 board game Castle Ravenloft, which kicked off a series of D&D Adventure System of games, is coming back for a new printing. Renegade Games Studios has announced plans to reprint Castle Ravenloft, which was originally released by Wizards of the Coast back in 2010. The game, designed by Rob Heinsoo, Peter Lee, Mike Mearls, and Bill Slavicsek, was the first in a series of board games that used the same underlying game system, several of which were based on 5E D&D adventures. The game is a co-op campaign game consisting of 13 adventures and can be played by 1-5 players. The new edition will feature updated illustrations and graphic designs.

Two versions will be released - a standard edition featuring 42 unpainted miniatures and a premium edition featuring painted miniatures. The standard edition will cost $100 and the premium edition will cost $200.

Renegade Games Studios has built up its line of games originally printed by Hasbro. This is the second game re-released by Renegade featuring D&D branding, following the Lords of Waterdeep game.

Or, the labor of painting.

Even low-quality paintjobs done at least partially automated incur costs. Not sure how good these "premium" painted miniatures will be.

Yeah thats 10-20 hours of a good painter using contrasts and a basic 3 colour scheme with basic highlights. Batch painting similar figures.

Using an airbrush or rattlecan for priming. Tabletop standard.

$100 extra for convenience.

Google says $200-900+ depending on desired quality for commision of 40 minis of similar type eg an army.

$100 for 42 painted mini is cheap and at $2.38 each don't expect a spectacular paint job. Probably a basic slapchop of three colours and maybe a coat of quick ink dip for shadows.

Interesting that these are coming back

Renegade produces Heroscape and the previous Heroscape used d&d models plus renegade has the upcoming dungeon crawler Carl
