Chaining spells with costly components

If you chain a spell (Tome and Blood feat), how much of the material component do you need to use? I have recently house - ruled haste and mass haste to need some costly components, the party wizard is trying to get around the higher cost for mass haste by chaining haste. Any word from the home office on this topic?

Metamagicking a spell does not change its components. Chained Haste costs exactly the same as normal Haste.

Since you're the DM, you could require the cost to be paid per target, or just say that the Chain Spell feat cannot be applied to haste. Be aware that those would be house rules, though.
