During the skill challenge, for each PC fewer than five, reduce the number of successes needed for partial victories and complete victories. For each PC above five, increase the number of successes need by two.

Which i'm reading as: Reduce the number of successes needed by 1 for each player missing below 5 players, but increase them by 2 for each additional player above 5.

Was that the intention?

They're the same, which is good!

My thought was that maybe the intention was to raise or lower the DCs by 2 points for both larger and smaller groups, so I thought I'd check since I started the planning montage last night with four players.
