Cleric or Druid?

Hi!

I'm DMing this game and so far we have:

- Hobgobling dual wield ranger;
- Human ftr 2 / rogue 8 archer;
- Human mage.

The fourth player doesn't know he's going to play a cleric or druid, so I'm posting here asking for suggestions and maybe a build that fits this group.

Setting is Planescape.
ECL is 10.
Any official Wotc 3.5 it's a go.

He's a very experient player but never played clerics or druids. He doesn't have an EN account so I'm posting for him.

Any suggestion? Any build?

PS. He doesn't need to be a pure healer. I'm fine with a good damage cleric or a shifter druid.

If you're going to be on other planes besides the material plane often, cleric is a much better choice. They actually get earlier access to some spells such as Plane Shift than even a Wizard, as well as lots of spells to deal with planar traits (especially in Spell Compendium, if used).

As for group...you've got two guys who rely on full attacks primarily, so any spell choices or builds that help give others full attacks or greatly benefit a full attack will probably be a big help. The last cleric I played had the time domain and used PH2 variant to spontaneously cast from it, so he regularly could buff the party with Haste, for example. Of course, I'm not sure there are many buff spells the cleric has that the mage couldn't also cover, or do better to help with this.

Side note: The mage should definitely get a wand of benign transposition, from Spell Compendium. Level 1 spell w/ medium range that swaps the positions of two willing creatures. So...enemy goes into melee with the mage or archer, mage 5 ft steps back if necessary, swaps his'archer's place with the ranger. The mage/archer is out of harm's way, and the ranger can step in and full attack; everyone wins!
