What have you heard? I haven't watched this test footage. All I've seen is a picture of the mask without a hood over it (they even got the mouth right, strange as the old Kirby design was), and an interview with the costume designer, Jose Fernandez. Allow me to quote an interview in the December issue of Wizard magazine. "I remember [at a young age] seeing the image of Doom and thinking that he's just amazing - and now I get to design him! So I'm very excited about that. And yes, he will have the cloak and the iron mask! [...] And as for Thing and Doctor Doom, I just took the flavor of the characters, remembering the imagery and how it impacted me as a kid, and figured out what I thought they should look like in my mind's eye - and that's how I came up with the designs." He also mentions combining several comic versions of the costumes, and using textured spandex in place of unstable molecules. So that's what the costume designer has to say. From this, we can infer that Doom will be wearing an iron mask, not being living metal like in UFF; and that Doom will be wearing a cloak. Will it be the right kind of cloak to satiate frothing fanboys? I don't know. Is my inference accurate? I don't know. But it's information from a source who should know what he's talking about, so I'll pay attention to it.
