Did anyone see this? Its listed as one of Dragon's recurring features. It is a devil-centric version of the Demonomicon of Iggwilv.

If you click on the "Features" menu under the Dragon heading, it gives you a list of the regular features such as the Demonomicon, Bazaar of the Bizarre, Bestiary, Ecology of... The Codex of Betrayal was listed there.

Needs a much better sounding name IMO. They could have pulled up a tome from D&D lore, or for their own benefits, created a new one to become an iconic of its type.

Demons already had Iggwilv's Demonomicon and the Mors Mysterium Nominum, and the 'loths already had the Book of Keeping and the Book of Derelict Magics, but the devils didn't have anything that immediately springs to mind (at least with the same repeated use in the lore).

Sorry you don't care for the name, but no, we couldn't find one from existing D&D lore that was appropriate for devils. (And even if we had, odds are good that it wouldn't have fit, given the new background for devils in 4E.)

Does this mean you are writing this?

EDIT: the name is just fine, despite of what mr. planescape thinks.

I wrote what I believe will be the first article in the series, and I suggested the title "Codex of Betrayal."

But it's not "my" series, per se. I didn't come up with the concept for the series, and future installments could be written by anyone (though I certainly hope to do more than just the one.)

Sweet. I always used and liked devils a lot more than demons. Can't wait to read these.

It'd be very cool if they were open to queries on exactly that.
