Community D&D Classes

I just learned that our community has D&D classes! There are two of them, one for children and the other for middle school kids. Both are listed right along with community events. Now the depth of the classes described seems lacking, but the fact that there are introductory classes is great!

Does anyone else have something like this in your neighborhood? Do you teach any class like this?

How many levels do they have?

Cool.

Never heard of anything like that around here, but haven't really looked either. :)

A friend got paid to teach an undergraduate-level Tolkien course... that's sorta close.

Isn't it Yale that has a D&D class? I think they did a study, and found that D&D players did consistently better on exam scores, so they added a class. I know it's an ivy league school.

Really, though - it's a community school. Someone has a hobby, they teach a class fot it. I mean, they make fun of it in the Simpsons - there's even a class for spitting tobacco.

Someone likes D&D, decides to make it a class for a few quick bucks, and voila! Not that I'm complaining - something like that could be pretty cool.

"Now, Jimmy - do you want to take Karate Classes, Late night baseball, or..."
"I want D&D classes!"
"Uh..."
"I'm gonna kill goblins, loot their bodies, and fly into a barbarian rage!"
"That's nice dear. Eat your corn pops."

Clearly Jimmy is not of the appropriate mindset to be taking a D&D class...

...he should be teaching one!
