Constitution based knight?

Quickleaf

Legend
Re-jiggering my 4th level knight around and I'm curious if I can make a solid knight using Melee Training (constitution). Mainly this is to have an awesome Cleaving stance and tons of HP, plus it fits the PC perfectly.

In particular I'm wondering about feats that make good use of a high constitution score; I'm not up to date on all the latest options. A quick search in the compendium's feat list for 'constitution' didn't turn up much of value.

Any recommendations?

Superior Fortitude is a decent one (Fort bonus and resistance to all ongoing damage). Swift Recovery and Toughness are decent too (though they're more HP catch-alls than specifically Con-based). You're still gonna have to dump a few points into Strength though, or your Battle Guardian will kind of meh.

Frozen Soul (cold resistance and +1 Will), Disciple of Stone (gain temp hp when spending surge), Heavy Armor Agility (ignore speed penalty), Savage Axe (add Con to damage of axe opp attack), Hammer Rhythm (deal Con damage on missed attack with hammer/mace) all require Con (some also require Str).

For the HP in general I'm thinking Disciple of Stone (+5 THP with surge) is better than Swift Recovery or Toughness.
I tend to hit most of the time (we use a homebrew "style point" system that allows us to gain bonuses to rolls), and Battle Guardian only seems to make a big difference for a bad roll against minions. After all, the higher defense enemies tend to have lots of HP. So I'm thinking a 12 strength just to have a minion-killing option.

Yeah, I've been trying to do this as a bastard sword wielder for thematic reasons - your classical sword-and-board human knight. But you're right that axe or hammer is the way to go.

A note about Savage Axe, however, the knight's Battle Guardian is an attack as an opportunity action, *not* an opportunity attack. A subtle dbut critical difference. So opportunity attack boosters are a no go for the knight, unfortunately.

Wielding a Khopesh (reflavoured as whatever you like) allows you to grab both axe and heavy blade support, if that matters. As pointed out, though, Savage Axe will not be of much help. Dumb, but RAW is like that sometimes.

I thought about that too, but it was hard to find axe feats that supported my build - most seem to about charging, the fighter's combat challenge, gaining brutal property, savage axe, etc.

I'm looking at picking up Heavy Blade Strike from the mordekainen book; is allows you to spend a power strike when you drop an enemy to 0 HP in order to make a melee basic attack as a free action. I figured that might allow memo take advantage of my powerful cleaving stance. Another one I was looking at is Victor's Confidence which gives a cumulative +1 bonus to saves for each enemy you drop until end of the encounter.

The feats I have already are Melee Training (Con), Heavy Blade Expertise, and Bastard Sword Proficiency.
