Critfisher Rogue - Still Bloodiron ?

First Post
Okay so Bloodiron Dagger officially nerfed.
No adding crit feat or magic item crit bonus's to the 2nd round 3D10.

But still its very powerful, 6d10 over 2 rounds on a crit.

But is Wraithblade now better as you can SA damage again on a crit with that.

Or does any other dagger stand out close or better than these 2 now ?

Unless you get some kind of bonuses with sneak attack in addition to the dice, Bloodiron is always equal or better to the Wraithblade (equal at lvl 21 with +4 enhancements on both, Bloodiron is better at all other times)

The errata to bloodiron was exactly how our group was playing that item to date. The whole "add other bonus's" bit of it just didnt seem right to us so we didnt play it, and it turns out we were right.

My point would be, by our standards it was the cirtters weapon of choice before, and it is still the weapon of choice after. Nothings changed.

To say "Is it still worth it now we cant continue with our overstacking?" is a bit of a weird question. The fact that it was overdone before this errata doesnt mean its underdone now.

My feel for it is that the porridge is just right...

There's one that lets you add your dex mod as a crit bonus, which is better than bloodiron once your dex mod is 6 or better IIRC.

Oh, wait, maybe that's 11 or better, which is a bit different...

Yes, that one is good, I think it is in AVII, but I do not remember the name.

Bloodiron is still excellent, the calrification jsut cutting out odd interpretations of the rules.

Of course, if you kill enemies fast enough that delaying the damage until the next round is wasted, then a pure damage option (such as the Dex per enhancement, or Vicious) might be a good idea.
