D&D 4e Campaign World

I've recently begun rereading my D&D 4e core books in preparation for running my brother, his son, my brother's friend and his son, and my daughter through some D&D adventures.

Am I the only one who wishes that WotC would publish a "D&D Campaign Setting" book (like they did for Eberron and Forgotten Realms) based on all the tidbits of info littered throughout the Core books and supplements.

It's such a cool sounding world with lots of adventure inspiring information. I'd love to have it all together in one place like a Campaign Guide.

But that would defeat the purpose of what they're trying to do with it. :)

See, what htey want is to present something that a DM can drop into his campaign world. Just having "The Nethir Vale" works, because a DM can place the Nethir Vale anywhere. But as soon as Wizards puts the Nethir Vale on say, a MAP with other places, now that place is locked in.

Then, if you want to put that in your campaign setting, it'd be no different than cracking open the FR or Eberron campaign book and stealing that stuff.

The nice thing is that there is a lot of fluff, if you look through books and dungeon adventures, etc. For instance, Divine Power has lots of little tidbits about the gods and class fluff, tucked away in little corners.

What I'd like to see is a compelation, just all those little nuggets cataloged for reference. I bet there's a thread that does that SOMEWHERE (if not a wiki or blog).

Oh, I know that. There's just so much cool (to use an overused word) stuff hidded in the nooks and crannies. Thus...

This is what I was going for. Maybe "Campaign Guide" was a bit strong. I'm a decent typer (45+ words/min), so I could type it all up. I'm also exceedingly busy and lazy.

Yeah, that wiki is sorely needing an update. A factoid I can pull off the top of my head is that the human empire was destroyed by a force of Gnolls, and the king of said empire was pulled into the abyss or somesuch. That was in the Yeenoghu article, IIRC (or maybe the Gnoll article).

Also missing is the information presented in the PHB2 intro on the Primal power source. About the Primal Spirits forcing an end to the gods and primordials using the world as a battleground.

Well, crap, if only it were in an easily-editable form so that anyone who saw something which was missing could easily add it in...

If only...
