A Regular Human

Hello friends! Following up on our announcements from the keynote at Gen Con, we've updated the D&D Beyond roadmap and have done a deep dive into what's been announced so far, which also exists in article form: Mid-Year Update: D&D Beyond's 2026 Development Roadmap

I also wanted to let everyone know that we've planned an AMA with DDB Executive Producer Brian Perry + some other DDB team members (TBD) tomorrow, August 19th at 10am PT on (in?) r/dndbeyond. Hope to see some friendly usernames there! :)

From the article:

"Today, we’re laying the foundation for some of our most exciting content yet: the war-torn realm of Azeroth, the brutal grit of Dark Sun, the epic drama of Dragonlance, the shadowed depths of the Underdark, the latest chapter in Greyhawk’s living legacy and larger-than-life adventures across a galaxy far, far away."

Oh? Care to comment @LaTia J ???

The Keynote answers all of those questions :)

"Soon you'll be able to upload your own stickers." YES. Same for being able to replace the art on monster tokens (in my case, I will be doing it with photos pf my miniatures!

Scene prep is great - being able to keep encounter notes right on the map itself will save me a lot of tabbing back and forth.

DMs will be able to restrict player choices at character creation. YES!!! We've been asking for this for ages! (e.g. for my home game set on Exandria I just want core game and Critical Role options enabled, and right now I have to individually message players what to toggle on and off, and then check that they did it). This cannot happen soon enough, as I have a new beginner campaign starting at school in a few weeks.

Somehow I missed this bit.
Thank you for highlighting it because I find restrictions help define my campaigns.

Really nice updates on the horizon, that make the whole platform even more interesting. Sadly though, today isn’t the day that I finally get my localization announcement. Same with the spell cards (that as far as I know also don’t have a confirmation that we‘re gonna see them in the other officially translated languages) it would make such a difference for me in regards to immersion to fully play in my mother tongue (German) with tools like these but without switching languages every time a spell is cast or an item is used.

Gonna keep on hoping though and in the meantime I‘m already happy for everyone else :)
