The new monsters and spells were part of a large monthly release.

D&D Beyond has released its monthly drop of content, this time adding three new spells, four new monsters, and three magic items. A month after its launch, Wizards of the Coast has added new content to its D&D Beyond Drops program. The program, which includes small weekly releases as well as a larger monthly release, is exclusive to D&D Beyond subscribers. This month's release includes four celestials that either serve darker purposes or have been corrupted by outside forces, as well as three new spells and three new magic items.

The four new monsters include the Angel of Death (CR 14), Angel of Obsession (CR 6), Angel of Slaughter (CR 25), and Angel of Vengeance (CR 9). The three new spells include Searing Orb (a 2nd level spell that deals damage to a target and then forces the creature and those around it to make a saving throw or be blinded), Tortoise Shell (a 2nd level spell that grants a bonus to AC that becomes greater if the player is standing still), and Void Star (a 7th level spell that deals necrotic damage to its target on the round the spell is cast and a lesser amount of damage on a subsequent round.)

Wizards of the Coast recently announced that they'd make all Drops content available for sale to non-subscribers via annual bundles on D&D Beyond. They're also looking to make Drops content sharable in campaigns.

D&D Beyond is glitching, I have naster tier, but when I click in stuff in the drop, it sends me to the pick subscription page, and its happening to others too.

I did get a look at most of the angels thanks to Youtubers and one thing stuck out, the have disguise self so they can hide among mortals, but the problem is "You must adopt a form that has the same basic arrangement of limbs as you have" now how is that going to work when your a tornado of blood, a giant eye is a cage of brass, or a 3 headed angel?

They should have given the the shapechange spell version that Devas get, maybe a weaker version for angels of obsession, should have given that to Planarars and Solars as well.

It also mentions Guardian Angels as the normal versions of the Angels of Obsession, have those been stated up anywhere? Maybe a hint at a future Celestial?

I dig the art. Here's the art for the Angel of Death, Angel of Obsession, Angel of Slaughter, and Angel of Vengeance (in respective order)
The Angel of Vengeance, the atomic angel. 😛 It looks like the nucleus of an atom. A radioactive one.

"Biblically accurate angels" are wicked cool

Angel: "Behold my true form, mortal."

DM (to Player): "Roll to make a Wisdom save as you come face to 'face' with the Celestial."

Player: "That's a Celestial?!? Could have fooled me."

Not quite as dramatic, but probably destined to get more used than angels is the Eternal Chalk magic item, which does what it says on the tin.

Being able to make faintly glowing marks that can't be erased for a week is a huge thing for dungeons and Underdark exploration adventures.
I would like to personally thank whoever made the chalk. This is the whimsy I need more of
