The new monsters and spells were part of a large monthly release.

D&D Beyond has released its monthly drop of content, this time adding three new spells, four new monsters, and three magic items. A month after its launch, Wizards of the Coast has added new content to its D&D Beyond Drops program. The program, which includes small weekly releases as well as a larger monthly release, is exclusive to D&D Beyond subscribers. This month's release includes four celestials that either serve darker purposes or have been corrupted by outside forces, as well as three new spells and three new magic items.

The four new monsters include the Angel of Death (CR 14), Angel of Obsession (CR 6), Angel of Slaughter (CR 25), and Angel of Vengeance (CR 9). The three new spells include Searing Orb (a 2nd level spell that deals damage to a target and then forces the creature and those around it to make a saving throw or be blinded), Tortoise Shell (a 2nd level spell that grants a bonus to AC that becomes greater if the player is standing still), and Void Star (a 7th level spell that deals necrotic damage to its target on the round the spell is cast and a lesser amount of damage on a subsequent round.)

Wizards of the Coast recently announced that they'd make all Drops content available for sale to non-subscribers via annual bundles on D&D Beyond. They're also looking to make Drops content sharable in campaigns.

I think they need errata, mostly around their thier disguised self power.

And maybe some lore about their origins. The Angel of Obsession & Angel of Venegence are corrupted versions of other Angels, but how are Angels of Death created and how do they fit in with the rest of the Angel hierachy? And who created the 3 Angels of Slaughter (also since there are only 3 of them period, it'd be cool if they gave us their names).
Curly, Larry and Mo.

Last night, I ran an encounter in my ongoing Faerûn campaign with the Angel of Obsession, and while I thought it would be a fairly scary/unsettling encounter, my three PCs managed to make it into a farce real quick, leading me to compare them to the Three Stooges!

It's not really relevant, but I think it's odd that the Three Stooges came up twice now in this context within 24 hours!

It is mentioned Angels of Slaughter only disguise themselves as huge creatures, but alter self would probably make more sense than disguise.

Only 3 Angels of Slaughter at a time. If one is felled presumably a new one emerges to replace it.

The size thing isn't the issue, its that its a shape that leaves it no creatures it can mimic its a blood tornado, so alter self doesn't work either.

Honestly just give them shapechange with added limits on it, like the Deva gets. Its not going to break anything mechanically.
