D&D General D&D may be a DELTA, not a TTRPG!

The thing with TTRPG is that there are other RPGs in the video game space so the term has similarities you can bounce off if you know about those. If you know about CRPGs or JRPGs, then you have some knowledge of what they're like and the expectations common between them.

LTAs aren't really a thing. Heck, that more means "Land Transit Authority". This is not getting across the idea of what any RPG is

Don't think this one is catching on, mate.

I wonder how many people will realize that this is satire pointing out that certain people are trying to claim control over what D&D is allowed to be and how all people who use it should have to use it.

Is it the most vital? I love DMing, but is my role the most vital, when there are rules in some editions to replace some core parts of the DM's role with a procedure? Or when products like oracles exist to play without a DM? I think the players get first billing 100% of the time.
Yes, it kinda is.

First, if you lose one player and can't replace him, you can generally continue on playing the game. If you lose the DM and can't replace him, the game is over.

Second, the rules allow the DM to set aside any rules that replace those procedural parts you mention. Those are there as an aid to the DM, not a replacement for him.

Third, if you have to create a product in order to even be able to play without a DM, you've acknowledged his importance.

Lastly, none of that is to say that players are not also very important, as is their fun with the game. My argument is not about some DM power trip, but rather which role would be primary and why.
