The licence of Final Fantasy is owned by other publisher. I don't say it wasn't a good option but other arrive before.

Dragon Quest and Zelda are good options because you can reuse the previous elements for a new continuity. Square Enix has got several franchises, and they could start from zero a new title to follow the path of "Baldurs Gate 3".

K-Pop Demon Hunter? A little number of pages for a (monk or bard?) subclass and the monsters. Possible if it was only-digital content.

The franchise has to be enoughly famous among the no-geek community.

League of Legends should be added to the list of options.

If some franchise world becomes relatively peaceful after the main antagonist faction to be defeated then it is a bad worldbuilding for TTRPG stadards because these need room for a "monster of the week".

Ravenloft could be the best option for collabs with horror IPs, for example the new generation of ghostbuster suffering their own weekend in the hell.

Buck Rogers is a relatively forgotten franchise. Flash Gordon RPG was published by Pinacle Entertaiment Group in 2018. Of course if WotC didn't get that licence could start from zero its own sword and planet IP.

Other option would be collabs with musical artists or groups but then here the initial worldbuilding is totally zero and WotC should do all the work. It would be easier to create a new setting for collabs with musical artists, something like the videogame "Brutal Legend" but with room for different genres.

Or a world with no-lethal gladiators games for collabs with sportsmen.

Collabs with no so famous franchises is possible, but they would be digital-only content in D&D-Beyond store. Some pages could be free because it would tell something you could find in the fandom wik like the biography of nPCs.

Considering they've got three full Ator movies, we could totally make the Ator O'Verse. But that raises the question, what's the armor class of a hubcap?
