Now there's a project, gentlemen.

Mullets, high-level action heroes, plenty of ninjas, training montages, alien predators, robots from the future, mismatched buddy cops.

Alternate title: "d20 Recent."

[SHOW YOUR AGE] At least the music would be better! [/SHOW YOUR AGE]

It would lend itself to a certain type of game - the height of the cold war, with World War 3 a distinct possibility.

A dismal and depressing world, where mismatched buddy cops and secret ninja clans are the only hope for saving civilisation from the threat of robots from the future.

Or maybe a simpler time, when everyone knew who the enemy was - the Commies or the Capitalist Imperialists - and the only decision that had to be made was how you were going to defeat him, and what gadgets your superspies were going to need to get the job done.

Not sure what a mullet's game mechanics would be though.

Indeed. In a disturbing and twisted kind of way, I really miss the Soviets. :(

Mmmm....

I'm drooling here.

The '80s are so ripe for gaming goodness.
And yes... the music would be better. :)

Between the A-Team, Lethal Weapon, Red Dawn, Miami Vice, and a plethora of other genre movies and shows... the potential is limitless. I want to offer any help I can, here. I fully believe it would be a good and maybe necessary addition.

I see the quintessential eighties hero as a guy who fights against both external foes and a corrupt and/or inefficient system. Evil KGB agents and rogue CIA agents were both commonplace.

There would have to be a feat called Vietnam Vet that increases the DC of saves against massive damage dished out by the hero...in eighties action movies, "Vietnam Vet" is always code for "lethal killing machine."

I'm thinking there could be some sort of secret organization [maybe one of those rogue CIA groups, but actual good guys...something like Ahnold's group in "True Lies"] that recruits the various ninjas, Vietnam vets, buddy cops, and ninja Vietnam vet buddy cops and sends them on missions against America's greatest enemies, foreign and domestic.

Hey Barsoomcore...get someone working on a minigame.

I'd like to add that a mullet gives the "wearer" DR 2/- against attacks with a sap.

I'd like to add "misguided religious fanatics who want RPGs terminated" as possible adversaries for this kind of campaign.

... I'm just saying it.

If you have mullets, don't forget gravity defying teased hair. Or just stupid hair styles in general. I can hear Flock of Seagulls playing in the background. Maybe a feat effect could be to incapacitate your opponents with laughter for 1d4 rounds.
